Neste dia 12 de outubro celebramos o ‘Dia das Crianças’ [Children’s Day] aqui no Brasil. Mas você sabia que o Universal Children’s Day, é comemorado por diversos países no dia 20 de novembro? Nesta data, em 1959, foi estabelecida a Declaração dos Direitos da Criança [Declaration of the Rights of the Child] e muitos países se envolvem em diversas atividades relacionadas aos direitos e o bem estar de crianças de todo o mundo. A UNICEF promove eventos para a conscientização de todos sobre os problemas e atitudes que podem ser tomadas para garantir o direito de todas as crianças.

Abaixo, veja alguns dos direitos de toda criança:

Children must be treated without discrimination of any kind, irrespective of race, color, sex, language, religion or other status.
In all actions concerning children the best interests of the child shall be a primary consideration.
The child shall be registered immediately after birth and have the right to a name, a nationality and to preserve his or her identity.
A child shall not be separated from his or her parents against their will, and shall be permitted to cross national borders for family reunification.
All children have the right to the highest attainable standard of health, including access to primary health care, nutritious foods and clean drinking-water.
Every child has the right to a standard of living adequate for the child’s physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development.
