A palavra wrong pode significar errado. Para dizer você está errado; você está equivocado podemos usar “you’re wrong”. Mas e “in the wrong“?
A expressão in the wrong também é usada quando alguém está errado pois fez algo inadequado e é culpado por algo ruim. Vamos ver como ela é usada em inglês?

Normalmente, usamos a combinação to be in the wrong, vejam os exemplos:
She was the one in the wrong. Ela foi a culpada.
Which driver was in the wrong? Qual motorista foi o culpado?
The other driver was totally in the wrong – he hit me, after all! O outro motorista estava totalmente errado – afinal de contas, ele me bateu!
Why don’t you just admit you’re in the wrong? Por que você simplesmente não admite que é o errado da história?
He didn’t press charges because he was in the wrong. Ele não prestou queixa porque ele foi o culpado.
We had a green light, so she was clearly in the wrong when she hit us. A luz verde era para nós, então claramente ela estava errada quando bateu em nós.
A: I wasn’t in the wrong, you were. Eu não estava errado, você que estava.
